Newcastle switches things up by celebrating Christmas in July

Locals were in for a treat at the Arbor Lifestyle Market, dubbed Christmas in July hosted this past Saturday (July 8).

The market, which is usually held at the Arbor Park Sports Grounds, was temporarily moved to the NTT Isuzu Honda Newcastle undercover parking area to draw attention to the company’s new location and as an added precaution against Newcastle’s recent unpredictable weather patterns.

With a special emphasis on young entrepreneurs, the market featured arts, crafts, and businesses belonging to children aged six to sixteen.

This gave the young entrepreneurs exposure and an opportunity to hone their entrepreneurial skills.

“I was initially concerned that these children would be overlooked, but these businesses did much better than we expected and were selling out some of the products,” stated event organiser Tara Wood.

She continued: “I’m impressed by these kids’ dedication and determination to make the day a success, and we will make this a permanent fixture at all Arbour Park Lifestyle Markets.”

The Arbour Park Sports Grounds will host the next market day on September 9.
