Sharnè Dheochand gears up to host third Miss Wonder Women Pageant

Newcastle’s very own beauty queen, Sharnè Dheochand, is back on the frontline in the fight against breast cancer.
Known for her enchanting beauty as well as her golden heart, Sharnè will in October host her third annual Miss Wonder Woman breast cancer awareness pageant.
“It will be bigger, better, and even more glamorous than the last one… because October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’ll be going all out to raise much-needed funds,” she explained.
Cancer, a topic very close to her heart due to her own personal experiences, sparked her bold decision three years ago to start the Miss Wonder Woman pageant. The pageant’s ultimate goal is to educate and inform young people about breast cancer and cancer in general.
“Having such an experience puts things in perspective and makes one realise how important it is to have more knowledge,” Sharnè said.
The pageant will be held from 18:00 on October 28 at Blackrock Casino and the entrance fee is R180 per person which will include snacks.
The dress code is formal, and a cash bar will be available in the evening. Spacing is limited, so book your seats timeously.

‘Reach for Recovery’ is a non-profit organisation whose goal is to provide breast cancer patients and their families with practical and emotional support.
They also assist cancer patients in making key personal decisions and finding motivation to recover from breast cancer with a greater quality of life.
Miss Wonder Woman:
Sharnè encourages all women from all walks of life to ‘walk that ramp’ and make a difference while participating in a formal and glamorous event.
The age categories will be as follows: 7-9, 10–12, 13–17, and 18+.
The pageant will cost R200 per contestant.
Each contestant is expected to wear two outfits, as follows:
- Outfit 1: All black: models will be doing their opening sequence choreographed in their all-black outfits.
- Outfit 2: Evening wear (formal dress or ball gown): models will change into their evening dress and perform a T-ramp for the judges.
The crowning will take place once all models have completed the T-ramp.
A top three will be selected in each age category, including the first and second Princess, Queen, Miss Personality, Best Dressed, one overall Miss Supreme winner, and one Miss Debutante winner.
Each contestant is expected to raise a minimum of R500, and the contestant who raises the most money will be crowned Miss Debutante which will add an additional three points to her overall score.
Contestants must perform an evening walk on the runway in a formal evening gown or ball gown.
This year’s prizes will be bigger and better than before, including prizes such as sashes, crowns, cash, vouchers, and so much more.
