Young model needs your help ahead of Miss Wonder Woman Beauty Pageant
The motivation is the pristine and much-sought-after title, Miss Debutant, which is awarded to the contestant who raises the most money.
Local lass, Alexis Rheeders (11), has one goal in mind which is to scoop the Miss Debutant title at this year’s Miss Wonder Woman Beauty Pageant and she needs your help in achieving that goal…
The annual Miss Wonder Woman Beauty Pageant is centred on breast cancer awareness with the main goal to raise funds to assist Reach for Recovery – an institute that specialises in assisting cancer patients with their treatments and prosthetics.
Each contestant is expected to raise a minimum of R500, which is then donated to the organisation.
The motivation is, of course, the pristine and much-sought-after title, Miss Debutant, which is awarded to the contestant who raises the most money by the end of October.
Alexis’s main goal at the moment is to raise as much funds as possible and is calling on businesses and residents alike to come on board and assist her in her aim of making a difference in the lives of those that need it most.
“However, as great as it would be to win that title, the most important aspect is the fundraising and knowing that the money will go towards charity. I really want to help those with breast cancer who cannot afford the treatment without the help of Reach for Recovery,” she explained.
She also plans on using her title as Miss Debutant as a means to show other youngsters that modelling is so much more than just having a pretty face but can be used as a platform to make a difference in the world.
“If I win, I would be able to encourage more people to follow suite. I can also use it to carry on with various other community projects as I have learned that it is always a great feeling to get involved with charity work and to do good for others. It has also taught me gratitude and the meaning of humanity,” she continued.
“Please help me to help others with your donations. All donations go towards charity,” she said.
