Local bowlers reign supreme in mixed pairs
A total of 20 men's teams and 10 ladies' teams entered the competition.
Dundee Bowling Club hosted the Northern Zone Men’s and Ladies’ Pairs competition last weekend.
In the ladies’ section, it was Rita and Taryn from Dundee and Michelle and Nancy from Newcastle who made it through to the final.
In the end, it was Rita and Taryn who lifted the trophy, beating Michelle and Nancy 26-5 after 15 ends.
In the men’s competition, after hard-fought play-offs on Sunday morning, the final was an all-Dundee affair with Jacques and Ian and Greg and Louis making it through.
The day ended with Jacques and Ian reigning supreme to gain the title of Northern Zone Men’s Pairs Champions for 2023.
