Ezakheni Plaza celebrates 10th anniversary
The shopping centre was first opened in September 2013
The Ezakheni Plaza recently celebrated its 10th anniversary since opening their doors to consumers from Ezakheni and surrounding areas.
In July 2021, the Plaza suffered a huge blow as it was a victim of the unrest which saw many businesses being looted and burnt down after the arrest of former president Jacob Zuma.
The Plaza opened its doors again in November last year (2022) after renovations were completed.
10th birthday celebrations were held at the Ezakheni Plaza premises on Saturday (September 30).

In attendance were Ezakheni residents, mainly the elderly.
Outlining the purpose of the day, Ezakheni Plaza manager Veena Sanker said that, as the shopping centre, they are very grateful to have reached this milestone. “We have been through a lot since the Plaza first opened. “However, we are grateful that we have made it this far. Ezakheni is such a warm and friendly place, and I enjoy working here,” said Sanker.
Speaking on behalf of the stakeholders, Ekukhuleni High School principal Mr Shezi appealed to residents to take care of the shopping centre since it is of so much assistance to the Ezakheni community.
