IFP mourns the death of young local activist

He had travelled with fellow comrades from Ladysmith to attend the IFP Manifesto Launch

The Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) is mourning the untimely passing of Thabiso Romarn Hlatshwayo, who tragically drowned on Sunday morning (March 10). Thabiso was from Acaciavale in Ladysmith.

According to IFP spokesperson Mkhuleko Hlengwa, Thabiso was only 17 years old and a high school student. He drowned in Durban shortly before the start of the IFP Manifesto Launch.

The party and his family had been searching for him until his body was positively identified at a mortuary in Durban today (March 14), following his disappearance on Sunday.

“Thabiso was more than just a member of the IFP Youth Brigade, he was a vibrant spirit who had so much to look forward to and achieve. We extend our deepest condolences to his parents, siblings and friends during this devastating time. The IFP mourns with the family, friends and loved ones of Thabiso, and we offer our support to the Hlatshwayo family.”
