Mine boosts disaster relief in Utrecht

In efforts to bolster disaster relief in the area, the local mine, Uitkomst Mine Colliery, has partnered with the municipality to build a much-needed and long-awaited disaster centre.

Handing over a site on Plein Street, Utrecht, on March 12, Emadlangeni Mayor, M. L. Buthelezi, expressed his excitement at the partnership and future plans for disaster management in Utrecht.

“With this facility, we’ll have a centralized hub with the tools and people who know how to handle situations quickly and efficiently,” he stated.

The centre will act as a hub for disaster response, offering essential services, support, and relief operations to individuals impacted by disasters.

Buthelezi thanked everyone involved in bringing to life the vision of enhancing disaster relief in the area.

He further committed to enhancing the town’s disaster management strategies to ensure that the municipality will be disaster-ready in times of need.
