2 injured as truck crashes in Colenso

The exact cause of the accident is not known at this stage

Two people were seriously injured when a truck crashed in the early hours of this morning (April 25) on the R103 near the market in Colenso.

The truck, which was transporting steel, was badly damaged and its load was scattered all over the road.

Responding to the scene of the accident, towing services said it appeared that the driver lost control of the truck, which caused it to veer off the road and roll. The crash took place at about midnight, but they had to wait until this morning to begin ‘recovery’ operations.

The injured were treated at the scene before being taken to hospital for further medical attention.
