Suspect arrested for raping disabled woman in Paradise
A 59-year-old man was arrested and charged with the rape of a disabled woman in Paradise this past weekend.
Imran Ghafoor of the Newcastle Crime Fighters task team said a tip-off had been received of a rape in progress in the vicinity of Paradise.
Together with off-duty officer, Constable S.M. Ghafoor, officials quickly responded to the scene, where they managed to apprehend and arrest the suspect.
Both the suspect and victim were taken to the Newcastle police station, where further investigations were conducted and it was confirmed that the victim had been raped.
