Mohammed and Yaseen conquer the scenic Cape Town Marathon

Newcastle athletes, Mohammed Mobla and Yaseen Rasool, both put in brave performances at Sunday's scenic Cape Town Marathon.

Experienced runner, Mohammed aimed to complete the race in less than 3 hours and 35 minutes, but unfortunately, he pulled his hamstring at the 25 km mark.

Despite the injury, he demonstrated remarkable mental resilience, pushing through to finish in a credible time of 3:54:15.

Yaseen, running his first-ever marathon, said he thoroughly enjoyed the experience and ambled over the line within four minutes of the cut-off time to finish.

Both Mohammed and Yaseen embraced the Cape Town Marathon which is ranked the 6th best marathon in the world, with only the renowned Boston, New York, London, Berlin, and Tokyo marathons ranked higher.

“The Cape Town Marathon is renowned for its unique combination of natural beauty, cultural richness, and athletic challenges, making it a top choice for runners worldwide,” concluded Mohammed.
