Women’s organisation celebrates the life of a 93-year-old

Gogo Tamara sang and danced, as well as giving thanks to all the members of the organisation

The Vryheid Women Manyano organisation recently celebrated the life of Tamara Maduna, who turned 93 years old. They threw her a party, which coincided with ‘International Day of Older Persons’. Also, every Thursday is prayer day for women, which made her day extra-special.
In her early years, Mrs Maduna was a nurse by profession and a local preacher. All the church members did some reminiscing of Mrs Maduna as a dedicated woman in the church and in her profession. Organisation president Mrs Gwala encouraged women to always celebrate elderly citizens because they are a ‘unique resource’ and the church must appreciate them for the contributions they have made and are still making in the church. She said that a society without a senior member lacks wisdom, and she wished Gogo Tamara many more years of living. Gogo Tamara sang and danced, as well as giving thanks to all the members of the organisation.
