The one-year-old survivor of Van Reenen’s Pass horror crash will soon to be reunited with her mother

Department tracks down mother

The one-year-old baby girl who was the sole survivor of Monday’s horror crash on Van Reenen’s Pass which claimed 17 lives is soon to be reunited with her mother. The department of transport has confirmed they have found the baby girl’s mother.

She however is still in hospital recovering from injuries sustained in the crash. Six members of the girl’s family were killed in the crash including her grandparents.

They were killed in the crash occurred on Monday, 6 January at approximately 20:30 on the N3 on the Van Reenen Pass, KZN. A truck, minibus and a light motor vehicle were involved in a multiple vehicle crash that resulted in 17 fatalities (13 adults and 5 children) and 1 seriously injured baby.
