Basic Education Minister, Siviwe Gwarube announced the National Senior Certificate (NSC) Examinations results in Johannesburg yesterday (January 13)
“The matric class of 2024 has faced immense challenges, from the COVID-19 pandemic that disrupted learning in 2020/21 to the evolving budget pressures being felt by various provincial departments and schools to social ills such as violence, gangsterism and this new trend of protection fee rackets terrorising our schools. Despite these challenges, we have seen the highest rate of learners enrolled for grade 12 in 2024 righting their NSC exams since the start of COVID-19. We are proud of the class of 2024, they have worked well in hardship. “
