Osizweni drug raid results in three arrests
Three suspects were arrested on February 5 after a vehicle travelling on the Osizweni/Madadeni Road was intercepted by police and found to be carrying dagga valued at R50,000.
Acting on a tip-off, the Amajuba District Drug Task Team, along with the Newcastle K9 Unit, stopped the vehicle, which was allegedly travelling from Swaziland towards Osizweni.
The vehicle, stopped at a bottleneck point along either the R34 or N11 route, was searched, revealing 10 bales of dagga, weighing a total of 25.457 kg.
The motor vehicle that was used to transport the drugs was also impounded, and the three arrested suspects will appear in court soon while investigations continue.
