- April 5: Chronic Bass Newcastle to host anticipated Sound Off and Show & Shine

The much-anticipated Chronic Bass Family Fun Day, Sound Off, and Show & Shine will take place on April 5 at Lincoln Heights Secondary School from 10:00 to 21:00.
There will be a variety of market stalls from 10:00 with the official show and shine to begin at 13:00 to 21:00.
The lane will close at 20:00.
Gate entry will cost R30 per person, and children under 13 are free.

- April 4 – 6: Bikers ready themselves for the 2025 Balele Rally in Utrecht

Hundreds of bikers will make their way to the annual Balele Bikers Rally at the Utrecht Caravan Park.
This year will be the 21st rally,, and it will continue to grow bigger and better.
On Friday, April 4, various artists, including Freddie Spires and R&R Band, will perform in the main tent, providing entertainment for the old and young. We will have an open mic competition!
Come and show your skills. Be on the lookout for the new 2025 BMW 1000 RR and various other models, which will be on display at the rally.
On Saturday, April 5, at 06:00, there will be a dual-purpose bike outride over the ‘Knights pass’ and on top of the mountain at 10:00, there will be a mass ride from the caravan park through town, followed by a stunt and drag racing display along Van Rooyen Street.
Parking will be provided at Bergsig School Field to ensure those in attendance have the best and safest seats.
The professional stunts will be done by AJ Olivier from the Mac’s Motorcycle Club and Jaco Potgieter from the Soldiers for Jesus Motorcycle Club.
There will be no entry fee charged for the display on Van Rooyen Street.

April 26 – 29: 600 athletes to compete in SA National Kickboxing Championships in Newcastle

For the first time in history, Newcastle will stage the South African National Kickboxing Championships with over 600 athletes expected to converge on the Newcastle Showgrounds from April 26 – 29.
The milestone event will inject much-needed into the town with sports enthusiasts expected to support championships.
