Bethal stuns Highlanders with dramatic last minute win

In a thrilling Saturday afternoon clash, Bethal Rugby Club narrowly defeated the Newcastle Boschpick Highlanders, despite trailing 19-3 at halftime.

Highlanders’ head coach, André ‘Swanie’ Swanepoel, said Bethal came out firing in the second half, showing immense character as they swiftly turned the game around to lead 27-26.

With just five minutes left on the clock, the Highlanders clawed their way back in front, taking a 29-27 lead.

But in a dramatic final minute, Bethal was awarded a penalty inside their own 22m. They capitalized by kicking deep into Highlanders’ territory and managed to score a last-gasp try to seal a remarkable victory.
