Mini beauty queen shines with acts of kindness
Over the past few months, Luyanda Cele (12) has been busy using her platform to make a real difference in her community.
Newcastle’s very own teen beauty queen has been making waves, not just with her crown, but with her compassion.
In April, she proudly joined global efforts by celebrating Autism Awareness Month, advocating for greater understanding and inclusion of children and adults living with autism.
But her dedication didn’t stop there. She also spent the May 1 holiday feeding the poor, and delivering warm meals to those in need in the CBD.
Not stopping there, donated clothes at St. Anthony’s home, a local orphanage, bringing hope and comfort to children without families.
Her latest outreach saw her visiting a Emgazini creche, where she handed out treats and educational goodies, lighting up the faces of dozens of pre-schoolers.
Not slowing down on her duties on stage, she has continued collecting title after title to add to her already impressive silverware, surely on proud display at her family home. With grace beyond her years, the teen beauty queen continues to prove that real beauty lies in kindness, action, and a heart for service.
Rounding off the first half of the year, she took part in raising awareness for Autism by being a part of Epseranza’s Special Needs School Autism awareness event on May 17. There she helped by handing out learning material to the school. interacting with the students and bringing a bit of glitz and glamour to the event by showcasing her modeling skills.
Newcastle is proud to call her one of its own.
