SAWS warning issued for Northern KZN

The South African Weather Service has issued a yellow level 4 warning for parts of northern KwaZulu-Natal today.

The Northern KZN region is expected to experience disruptive rainfall, damaging winds, and the possibility of snowfall.

The level 4 warning indicates the likelihood of:

-Strong interior winds causing localised damage to both formal and informal settlements

-Loss of agricultural production in some areas

-Disruptions to transport routes and travel services, potentially due to fallen trees or debris

The Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs has issued the following safety guidelines:

-Stay indoors whenever possible

-Monitor official weather alerts regularly

-Keep your mobile devices charged in case of power outages

-Avoid unnecessary travel

Check on vulnerable individuals, including children, the elderly, and neighbours who may need assistance.
