The cost of feeding a family has surged, leaving many struggling to keep up. We look at how grocery prices have climbed from R600 to R2 50 for a basic food basket.

Food is one of the basic necessities of life.

Nevertheless, what was once a mere grocery run has turned into a worrisome experience for most.

As consumers navigate the aisles, the stress now is to ensure that their purses stretch far enough to cover even the bare essentials.
