Participants made the most of the opportunity to exercise outdoors and socialise with friends and family.

Addressing participants at the start of the event, Cllr Connie Harriram, explained that the Fun Walk had replaced Ward 3’s annual Youth Day Sports Event this year, on account of the Fernwood sports facility, which is the usual venue for the event, being in need of renovations and maintenance.

The Fun Walk, which began and ended at the Nofta Hall saw participants walk a 3km route into Fernwood and back.

Participation was free and medals were awarded to the first 60 participants to finish.
