Police arrest two suspects and seize hundreds of suspected drug capsules in Dundee CBD operation

The South African Police Service in the Umzinyathi District arrested two suspects, both aged 47, for possession of suspected drugs in the Dundee central business district.

“Members of the Dundee Crime Prevention Unit acted on information received on Sunday (March 29) of two men allegedly in possession of drugs in the area, ” said SAPS spokesperson, Sergeant Siyabonga Nkwanyana.

Officers conducted patrols and located the suspects, who were approached and searched.

“During the operation, police recovered 10 transparent plastic bags, each containing 50 capsules of suspected drugs, bringing the total to 500 capsules.”

Both suspects were arrested and charged with possession of drugs. They are expected to appear today, Monday, March 30 in the Dundee Magistrate’s Court.
