The event attracted participants, coaches, teachers, parents and supporters – all of whom played a role in creating a positive and encouraging environment for the athletes.
Community support praised
Nathi Madinana (chairperson of the AbaQulusi Athletics Federation) thanked everyone who contributed to the success of the selection.
“A heartfelt thank you to all the participants, coaches, teachers, parents, supporters and community members who came out in large numbers to support the AbaQulusi Youth Run Selection.
“Your presence, encouragement and commitment made the event a great success and created a positive platform for our young athletes to showcase their talent and passion for athletics.”

District team selected
Madinana also revealed that 25 athletes were selected to represent AbaQulusi in the District Championships, adding that the event marks the beginning of further opportunities for young athletes in the district.
“This is only the beginning.
“The next event will be hosted in Ulundi under the Zululand District, where we look forward to seeing even more young talent rise and represent their communities with pride.
Building the future of youth athletics
