uThukela District Commissioner Major General TE Gonya hosted a special send-off for the uThukela District SAPS Comrades Team following their training session at the 5SAI Army Base on Saturday morning (June 6).

The team comprises Sergeant BNN Mthembu of the Bergville Visible Policing Unit and Constable LS Mdunge of the Ladysmith Visible Policing Unit. They will be supported by eight members of the uThukela District KZN Athletic Club.

Gonya shared words of encouragement and wished the runners success in the upcoming Comrades. Lieutenant Colonel Khanyi (pastor) led a prayer, while several senior officers attended the event in support of the team.

The uThukela District SAPS family wishes Sergeant Mthembu and Constable Mdunge all the best as they proudly represent the district.
