DA mourns loss of local activist

The DA in the Amajuba Constituency is mourning the sudden passing of one of their dedicated activists and fellow Democrat, Aruna Jaggernath.
According to Dr Imran Keeka, MPL:
“DA Amajuba Constituency Head, Aruna (Jaggernath), tragically collapsed during a march against the massively increased rates and service charges being experienced by Newcastle ratepayers.
“She was among residents and activists who had taken to the streets to raise their voices against these unjustified increases, while also highlighting the desperate water crisis affecting three DA wards, which have now been without water for 13 days.”
He further stated that it was profoundly tragic that Aruna passed away while doing what she loved most; serving her community and standing up for residents.
“She was a committed activist who was prepared to put herself forward in the interests of others, and her loss will be deeply felt by all those who had the privilege of working alongside her.”
He continued: “On behalf of the DA in the Amajuba Constituency, I extend our deepest and heartfelt condolences to Aruna’s family, loved ones and fellow Democrats who stood beside her on the streets today.”
During this extraordinarily difficult time, Keeka called upon her family to draw strength from their faith, prayer and the support of those around them.
“May her memory and legacy last forever.”
