“It takes 1 person’s blood donation to save 3 lives. Breaking the SANBS Clinic record of 2022, St Dominics Newcastle saved 171!
56 Superheroes came through on 26 October and the St Dominics family could not be prouder! Each donor received juice, cookies and funky socks as well as the support of the SANBS crew and the Blood Peer Promoters.
We would like to thank the SANBS crew for their hard work as well as bid the Blood Peer Promoters of 2023 a farewell, as this was the last Blood Drive of 2022.
They include Husna, Dia, Esethu, Mvelo, Sarah, Ria, Thabajan and Ciana. The Blood Peer Promoters also had the honour of working with few Grade 10 learners interested in taking on Blood Drives in 2023.
They were Shahir, Ethan, Sphe, Megan, Nabeel, Prisha, Ashadh, Xoliswa, Raeesa and Evangeline. With them, the Blood Drives in 2023 can only be even more successful! We send an enormous thank you to all those involved!”
– Sarah Baney, Grade 11 Blood Peer Promoter.
“Have you always wanted to donate blood but didn’t know where to go?
St Dominics Newcastle yet again hosted the South African National Blood Bank Service in its drive to increase blood donations.
With over 56 bleeds, saving 171 lives, done at our school on the October 26, we once again made a pivotal impact within the Newcastle community.
Donors received warm socks as a token of appreciation for their efforts. We wish to place on record our sincere appreciation to all who assisted and donated during this drive and welcome new donors to support this important initiative.”
