Grade RR pupils graduate at Cross Pollination Creche
‘’In a pilot study that was conducted from 2020 to 2021, the results show a great need for such a programme. We first took in 20 pupils, eight of whom have graduated. This year, we are planning on increasing our enrolment in order to cater for more children.’’

Grade RR pupils who attend Cross Pollination Crèche had a wonderful send-off when they had their graduation ceremony at the school.
Cross Pollination is a newly-operating pre-school situated in the Shoba area. School founder Mrs Nkosingiphile Kubheka, working alongside her son Ayanda, mentioned that, “Cross Pollination Crèche is a non-profit organisation which was initiated in the year 2020 after a conversation I had with my son. I saw a number of kids loitering around the area without care, so I communicated with my son, who has an educational background, about the idea of an early childhood development centre. That’s when the birth of the crèche took place.’’
Ayanda Kubheka also went in-depth to explain that they have been operating in a garage for the past two years and have gained momentum in that time, exceeding the garage’s capacity. ‘’In a pilot study that was conducted from 2020 to 2021, the results show a great need for such a programme. We first took in 20 pupils, eight of whom have graduated. This year, we are planning on increasing our enrolment in order to cater for more children.’’
They also mention that the children are exposed to different activities at the school; indoor and outdoor activities that are good for the body and brain, as they prepare their charges for Grade R and primary school. Cross Pollination Crèche caters for children from 18 months up to five years old and is a day-care facility. You can visit the school or contact Ayanda Kubheka on 079 107 3654 for enrolment.
