Pre-schoolers lend a helping hand for Mandela Day

The pre-school learners made sandwiches for homeless people in and around the Newcastle CBD.

The Newcastle Early Childhood Development Centre’s little learners braved the cold to do good for Mandela Day on July 18.

Accompanied by their parents and teachers, they beamed with pride as they handed out their sandwiches.

“It was overwhelming because all the little ones worked hard to produce the sandwiches,” said principal Botes.

The little heroes also cleaned sections of Hospital and Van Schalkwyk Streets before returning to their school for a well-deserved break.
