August:

HPS Mandir to host Geetha Week

  • August 10–15: HPS Mandir will host Geetha Week from August 10-15. The daily programme starts at 18:00 in the HPS Temple and includes satsangs, recitals, and discourses. From 18:00 on August 15 a special pooja will commence, featuring satsangs, recitals, discourses, and havan. All are welcome to attend. Smokkelhuiz & Oppi Berg Animal Farm to host family market day:

  • August 30: Smokkelhuiz invites you to a lively Market Day at Oppi Berg Animal Farm. Join us for a day of music by Smokkelhuiz and explore a variety of stalls on display. It promises to be a fun-filled day for the whole family.

September:

Stargazing evening to light up Newcastle skies:

  • September 5: St Dominic’s Newcastle will host a Spring Stargazing Evening from 17:00 to 20:00. This family-friendly event offers the perfect opportunity for astronomy enthusiasts, learners and the broader community to explore the night sky. Visitors can look forward to guided stargazing sessions, educational insights, and a relaxed atmosphere under the stars. For more information, visit www.curro.co.za.

The Pint’s spring beer festival featuring live music and German fare:

  • September 6: Get ready for The Pint’s Spring Beer Festival starting from 17:00 PM until late! The festival promises loads of German fun with German fare and fantastic live music. Featuring Angus Burns and the band ‘Free Beer’, as well as ‘Boyle & Blister’ with Graham Boyle (Guitar) and Ian Bland (Bass). There will also be a guest appearance by Kelvin Bland on drums. Prizes are to be won, with two bands to entertain you throughout the evening.

Newcastle Lions Clus to host ‘Bra’s & Bra’s’ golf day at Newcastle Golf Club:

  • September 13: Newcastle Lions Club warmly invites you to their ‘Bra’s & Bra’s’ 2 Ball Better Ball Golf Day at the Newcastle Golf Club. The cost is R300 per player, which includes a goodie bag and a meal. Bookings can be made directly at the Newcastle Golf Club, or you can contact Wilma on 082 966 6152 for more information or to reserve your spot.

The Barn to host annual golf day for CANSA:

  • September 20: The Barn @Majuba Lodge is delighted to announce it will host its annual golf day. All proceeds from this event will go directly to CANSA. Entries will be opening soon, and further details regarding exciting prizes, goodie bags, and performing artists will be announced shortly.

Fun 5km family run & braai day at Huttenpark Primary:

  • September 24: Huttenpark Primary, in association with Coastal Hire and Newcastle Harriers, warmly invites the community to its Fun 5km Family Run and Braai Day. The run kicks off at 07:00 AM. Entry fees are R20 for adults and R10 for under 18s. Following the run, there will be food and stalls available for everyone to enjoy. A cash prize will be awarded to the school with the most entries, and additional prizes are up for grabs.

October:

The Newcastle Diwali Committee:

  • October 11: The Newcastle Diwali Committee has begun with plans and preparations for this year’s grand Diwali Celebration to be held on October 11. Progress on this grand celebration will be published in forthcoming editions. For more info contact Sachin Ramsubak (Chairman) on 074 671 8008.
