The fifth annual Miss Wonder Woman Beauty Pageant is set to dazzle audiences once again, and this year’s edition promises to be bigger, better, and more meaningful than ever.

Now in its fifth year, the pageant has grown into a beacon of hope and empowerment, with a heartfelt mission to raise awareness about breast cancer while celebrating strength, confidence, and community spirit.

The event features a group of talented young women who take to the stage in various outfits, showcasing not only beauty but also poise, purpose, and passion.

Yet, beyond the glitz and glamour lies the deeper inspiration behind the event’s founder, SharnĂ©, whose personal journey fuels her drive to make a difference.

“My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer, and thankfully, she’s now cancer-free,” she shared. “My family has also been affected by leukaemia, my brother passed away at just 10 years old. These experiences made me realise how important awareness and early detection truly are. By educating others, we can save lives.”

The Miss Wonder Woman Pageant proudly supports Reach for Recovery, a non-profit organisation that provides vital assistance to women affected by breast cancer.

Funds raised through the pageant are donated to the organisation to help sustain their life-changing work.

Reach for Recovery offers psychological counselling, silicone prostheses, bras, and access to mammograms, medical check-ups, and follow-up care.

“We partner with Reach for Recovery because they empower women, especially those facing financial barriers, ensuring they receive the care and dignity they deserve,” said SharnĂ©.

Meaningful difference She expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the sponsors who have supported the initiative over the years and welcomed new businesses to join the cause.

“Sponsoring the Miss Wonder Woman Pageant is not just a marketing opportunity; it’s a chance to make a meaningful difference.”

The 2025 edition promises to be the biggest yet, building on the success and momentum of previous years. “Each year, the event grows in participation and impact.

“It’s more than just a beauty pageant; it’s a movement with purpose,” said SharnĂ©. “Cancer, in any form, touches so many lives. Every effort, no matter how small, can make a difference. Let’s continue to stand together, raise awareness, and support those fighting this battle.”

This year’s pageant will be held from 17:30 on November 22 at Blackrock Casino.

Tickets cost R120 per person, and a cash bar will be available. The dress code is formal.
