Apex Angling Club lands victory in latest APL round
The competition brought together passionate anglers from the region, all competing for valuable league points.
The latest round of the Angling Professional League (APL) delivered another exciting day of competitive freshwater angling, showcasing the skill, teamwork and dedication of three outstanding clubs:
- Apex Angling Club,
- Challengers Angling Club, and
- Breakwaters Angling Club.
Held as part of the Mohammed Midas League, the competition brought together passionate anglers from the region, all competing for valuable league points and the opportunity to make their mark in South African competitive angling.
Final league standings:
- 1st place: Apex Angling Club – 56 points;
- 2nd place: Challengers Angling Club – 38 points;
- 3rd place: Breakwaters Angling Club – 36 points.
Apex delivers strong team performance
Congratulations to Apex Angling Club on an outstanding team performance.
Their preparation, teamwork and commitment on the bank resulted in a well-deserved victory and strengthened their position in the APL standings.
Special mention goes to Rodney Ince from Apex Angling Club, who claimed the ‘Angler of the Day’ title and secured the R1000 prize with an exceptional individual performance.
Special achievements:
- Biggest Carp of the Day: D Barrett of Challengers Angling Club with a weight of 3.426kg;
- Biggest Non-Scaled Fish of the Day: Mohammed Mia of Apex Angling Club with a weight of 4.06kg.
