Familiar foes battle it out during NFWAA final Knock Out round

The NFWAA knockout final saw familiar opponents, Itec Freespool and Ladysmith, yet again come up against each other.

The battleground for this outing was Spectaclespruit at Chelmsford Dam.

With the league title virtually wrapped up by Ladysmith, it was Itec Freespool’s opportunity to get their hands on a piece of silverware after a long dry spell.

With both teams well represented and fishing virgin waters, the day was anyone’s to win.

The new venue gave up almost equal numbers of fish for both clubs, but Ladysmith reeled in the bigger fish, which resulted in more points.

The final tally saw Ladysmith amass a total of 40 points to Itec Freespool’s 22.

Muzakheer Khan and Sathar Khan of Ladysmith capped off a good day for the club by winning the heaviest scaled and non-scaled categories, respectively.

Ladysmith took home R 1000 in prize money for retaining their knockout title, and both Muzakheer and Sathar received R200 cash and an outright miniature trophy with compliments from Zamamena Construction.
