Park United FC scores the win during RBCA Charted Accountant Soccer League

The RBCA Chartered Accountant Super League resumed this past Sunday, with the Newcastle Legends facing off against the high-flying Zim Stars in a nail-biter of a contest.

Both teams had excellent football abilities but were unable to score.

In the second game, Spartans and Munawarah went head-to-head.

With Munawarah playing with the wind on their side, they opted to try long-range shots at the Spartans goal. The Spartans stuck to their game plan and passed the ball around. Munawarah scored 20 minutes into the game when midfielder Saleem shot at goal, and the Spartan goalkeeper misjudged the flight of the ball as it sailed into the net.

This goal rattled the Spartans, and Munawarah were unlucky to double their lead as Yusuf had his header cleared off the line by Denzel.

In the second half, the Spartans played more direct football, and Miguel chipped the ball into the net, only for the linesman to put up his flag for offside to have the goal disallowed.

With 10 minutes to go, the Spartans got the equalizer through Pro Abdool, whose effort from a free kick just outside the penalty area floated into the goal. The game ended in a draw.

In the final game, Fairleigh United took on Park United.

By this time, the wind had subsided, so playing conditions were much better. Park United dominated and strung attack after attack on the Fairleigh goal.

Deservedly, Park United took the lead 15 minutes into the game from a corner that was headed in. Park United searched for a second goal, but poor finishing in front of goal let them down. The teams went into the break with Park United leading by a solitary goal. In the second half, Fairleigh United played much better and managed to surprise Park United as they leveled the scores.

Park United picked up their game and took the lead shortly. Park United made a few tactical changes and scored two goals in quick succession. Park United ran out 4-1 winners.

  • 13:30: Zim Stars vs. Fairleigh United
