Local runners star in Prince Mangosuthu Ultra Marathon
The runners selected this marathon route as an ideal training session for the upcoming Comrades Marathon.
Congratulations to Zaakir Jeeva, Mohammed Mayat, Ismail Kajee, Mohammed Mobla and coach, Ahmed Chenia, who recently completed their first Prince Mangosuthu Ultra Marathon from Dundee to Nquthu.
With an elevation of 603m, the team chose this marathon route as a perfect training session for the upcoming Comrades Marathon, which will take place on June 9.
The Newcastle team finished with the following times:
- Mohammed Mobla – 5:46.20
- Zaakir Jeeva – 5:57:44
- Mohammed Mayat – 6:25.02
- Ismail Kajee – 6:31.00
- Coach Ahmed Chenia – 6:32.25
