Over 100 golfers support annual Mascor Golf Day

A number of businesses organised stalls across the greens, supporting their local golfers throughout the day with some much-needed beverages.

Newcastle Golf Club was abuzz this past Saturday, May 18, when over 110 avid golfers took to the course to participate in the annual Mascor American Scramble Golf Day.

Various businesses hosted stalls across the greens as they supported their local golfers throughout the day with some much-needed beverages to quench their thirst as they made their way over the 18-hole course.

Later in the day the players gathered at the clubhouse where they enjoyed a prize-giving ceremony, receiving various exciting prizes for their great displays of sportsmanship throughout the day.

Congratulations to the following winners of the day:

  • 1st place winners (48,66 nett): J. Esterhuizen, J.R. du Toit, H. Meintjies and L. Scott.
  • 2nd place winners (50,50 nett): A. Annandale, W. Goosen, L. Nel and H. Liebenberg.
  • 3rd place winners (51,00 nett): Dr. Kunene, J. Robson, M. Neero and N. Losaba.
  • 4th place winners (51,67 nett): P. Uys, O. van Aarde, U. Upton and R. Acker.
  • 5th place winners (53,00 nett): P. Gregory, C. Gregory, L. Kruger and L. Hsu.

Upcoming golf days:

Ferrum High School to host their annual golf day
July 20: Ferrum High School will host its annual golf day from 09:00 at the Newcastle Golf Club.
The competition format will be a two ball better ball.
Entries cost R250 per player and bookings can be made at the Newcastle Golf Club office.
