Ferrum Golf Day tees up success with community support

With the greens in pristine condition and energy high from the first tee to the final putt, Ferrum High School's Golf Day was a celebration of both competition and community.

The Golf Day, held on Saturday, June 21, served up a winning mix of sunshine, spirited play, and warm camaraderie.

he day’s top scorers were:

  • Jannie Esterhuizen / Ronnie Acker – 49 points

  • Tinkie van den Heever / Willie Bruyn – 46 points (count-out)

  • Ronnel Singh / Umesh Karsin – 46 points (count-out)

  • Dup Greyling / Wayne Krog – 45 points (count-out)

  • Raymond Hitzeroth / Marx Bach – 45 points (count-out)

Individual awards added extra excitement:

  • Longest Drive: Marius Nell

  • Nearest to the Pin: Norman Khumalo

  • Top Ladies Team: P. Karsans and S. van Zyl

The day wrapped up with a relaxed prize-giving ceremony, where winners were celebrated and guests enjoyed a hearty meal and refreshments—thanks to the dedication of organizers and the generosity of sponsors.

Ferrum High School expressed sincere gratitude to all sponsors, players, and volunteers whose support made the event a resounding success. From prize donations to watering hole sponsorships, every contribution played a part in making the day one to remember.
