Golfers raise funds at HCW Brokers golf day

Golfers gathered at Newcastle Golf Club for the first HCW Brokers-sponsored golf day, raising funds for O Safari’s upcoming tour. Read more here:

Dozens of keen golfers gathered at Newcastle Golf Club on Saturday morning, August 23, for the first annual HCW Brokers-sponsored golf day.

Event organiser, Paul Byrom, said he was impressed with the turnout, with 108 players taking to the greens.

Paul said the aim of the event was to raise funds for O Safari, who will be touring the South Coast from September 28 to October 3.

Paul thanked every sponsor and player who contributed to the day’s success, with special mention to the sponsored water tables that kept players hydrated throughout the competition as well as Dick Lemmer for all his help.

Congratulations to the top three winners of the HCW Brokers-sponsored golf day:

  • 1st: P. Singh, S. Singh, Y. Karrim and S. Tseng
  • 2nd: B. van Heerden, C. McClure, M. Lourens and R. Engelbrecht
  • 3rd: R. Pryde, R. Lessing, Mr Su and P. Mbhele
