Ncandu Bowling Club hosted its very first Jeremiah Meats sponsored Chicken Day on September 12.

Club president Girard Oberholzer proudly announced their partnership with the Newcastle-based meat products store, which will be sponsoring the monthly chicken competition.

Oberholzer expressed his appreciation towards store owner Anton Jacobs for his generous support.

He further extended his gratitude to all the bowlers who entered the competition and assisted in making the day an enjoyable success.

Yolanda Boshoff, who spoke on behalf of the club, explained that a Chicken Day is a social lawn bowls event or tournament where the winners of these fun competitions take home a Jeremiah Meats sponsored frozen chicken or chicken products rather than cash or trophies.

Congratulations to Wessie van der Westhuizen and Yolanda Boshoff, who won first place.
