Weekend warriors in the paintball arena

The weekend encounter was called the 'Battle of Iwo Jima'

War is something not usually looked forward to with glee, but when the bullets are paint and no one gets killed or badly hurt, it’s a different ball game altogether. It’s paintball to be exact, and players had a great match on Saturday morning at ‘The Arena’ on the N11.

The weekend encounter was called the ‘Battle of Iwo Jima’.

Flags were hoisted high and then it was down to business as the players crouched and prowled in search of an enemy to shoot.

Wearing camouflage, the weekend warriors ducked and dived as they tried not to get hit by the stinging paint. Many were of course not so lucky and sustained war injuries, in the form of bruises.

It was great fun as usual for all who grabbed a gun and became a ‘gladiator in the arena’. Another match is planned to take place soon. For more information on paintball, visit their facebook page at Ladysmith Paintball KZN.
