Wrestlers rake in 15 gold medals

Our wrestlers strike gold!

The Northern Natal Renoster Wrestling Club competed on Saturday, August 9 against the wrestlers of Vryheid, Newcastle and Richards Bay in Vryheid. The wrestlers of Volksrust were also included in the Renoster’s club.


The following wrestlers received gold medals: Dawie Botha (U/9: 33-36kg); Pieter Rautenbach (U/9: 36-39kg); Jannie Woest (U/10: 24-27kg); Nollie Brown, (U/11: 50-54kg); Olewthu Zindela (U13: 39-42kg); Willem Husselman (U/13: 42-46kg); Kayle Senekal (U/13: 46-50kg); Jeandré Duffe (U/13: 50-54kg); Lucinda de Waal (U/13; 50-54kg); Pieter Duminy (U/15: 42-46kg); Edrich Nortje (U/15: 46-50kg); Diffie Lampbrecht (U/15: 63-69kg); Peet Schutte (U/15: 69-76kg); Wynand Lens (U/15: 85-100kg); Wiehan Whelan (kadette: 69-76kg).


The following wrestlers received silver medals: Dian Bierbaum (U/9: 36-39kg); Rynard Steyn (U/10: 24-27kg); Hendrik Lens (kadette: 69-76kg).
The long-term development progamme (LTDP) wrestlers are Erik Rautenbach, JC Botha, Ruhan Davel, Liam Wentzel, Ivan Labuschangne and Theuns van der Merwe.
The next provincial tournament is at the end of the month, in Newcastle.
