The youngster was invited to join the South African team and stands a chance to earn Protea Colours if he can ontain a first place in what is going to be a gruelling challenge on the Mindolo Track.

Hayden Hughes, 11-year-old motocross enthusiast, is putting his skills to the ultimate test as he prepares for the Fim Africa Southern Region Motocross Championship. The championship battle will take place on August 31 in Kitwe, Zambia.

The youngster was invited to join the South African team and stands a chance to earn Protea Colours if he can ontain a first place in what is going to be a gruelling challenge on the Mindolo Track.

An ambitious Hayden realises that drive and dedication are key in becoming number one on the motocross circuit and has no problem putting in hours of hard work to get there. With his eye on the top spot on the world championship podium, it is evident Hayden does not lack motivation or skill.

Hayden’s parents, Earl and Angelique Hughes, would like to appeal to the community of Newcastle to support their son, who clearly has 2-stroke in his blood. The cost of Hayden’s trip to Zambia is R25 661, including airfare, accommodation and race fees.
