Maximum points in men’s badminton doubles

Jo Ng excelled in the men's doubles by earning maximum points, ie 180

Ladysmith Badminton Club’s annual round robin tournament was held at the Indoor Sports Complex on Saturday.
Although a mini tournament, it could be described as a success and all present had an enjoyable day.
Players from Harrismith, Newcastle, Ladysmith and one from Johannesburg were present.

Vryheid, the largest club in Northern Natal, once again shone in their absence, which is sad as badminton has become a dying sport in Northern Natal. Players from Pietermaritzburg were forced to withdraw when their vehicle broke down on Saturday morning.
Jo Ng excelled in the men’s doubles by earning maximum points, ie 180, while Craig Chetty was close on his heels with 172 points. Stoffel van Zyl and Jenny Chang were third and fourth with 171 and 163 points respectively.

In the mixed doubles, an unfit Jo did not have it all his way and conceded 12 points, finally getting 196 from a possible 208. Jenny Chang was second with 195 points, and Craig Chetty and Andrea Erasmus third with 186 points.
Ladysmith Badminton Club is thankful to Polyung Bag Manufacturers, who sponsored the shuttles, and Mac Signs, who sponsored the mini trophies and medals.
