Harcourts Bowls Business League starting soon…
The club will be making a special effort by attending the neighbours' tabs in on a bi-monthly basis.
The Harcourts Business League will start on Thursday, September 25 – enter now! The first twelve teams to pay will be accepted (R500 per team).
An exciting Vryheid Spring Tournament was played und The Battlefields team was pipped to the post, afer a wonderful atmosphere and weather conditions.fording them a three-in-a-row by the SA Police team (three police members and one ‘prisoner’). Players from all over KZN attended. Nearby teams were conspicuous in their absence – the club needs to support the neighbouring towns if the club expects them to support Dundee!
The club will be making a special effort by attending the neighbours’ tabs in on a bi-monthly basis. During the closure of the greens this was done, and new bonds have been forged, specifically with the Ladysmith clubs.
The sponsored drawn two-bowl trips on Saturday, September 13 will be followed by a braai and prize-giving. The first 36 players will be accepted. Please ask your friends in other clubs to enter!
Hyper Packaging Open Trips
The KZNCB Northerns Senior Singles will be played in Vryheid on September 27 and 28 – entry on notice board. Enter the Hyper Packaging Open Trips on Wednesday, September 24 (public holiday); contact Barbara Baleri on 082 502 9667.
A sponsored Spring Tea Party will be held at the club on Wednesday morning, September 17 at 10am, for all past and present bowlers. Come share some special memories. Contact Nan on 082 446 9916 or Sylvia on 081 046 8140. Transport can be arranged. There has been an amazing response for the Friedmann Cup and Douthwaite/Bunger Memorial Tournament on November 1 and 2. There are only a few slots left, so enter your team to avoid disappointment.
The club is pleased that Elsie is back home after a successful back operation, and wishes her a speedy recovery.
Thank you to Sylvia Malan for the four palm trees donated to the club. Unfortunately by Monday morning they had all been stolen! If anybody has seen someone with four new and suspicious palm trees, please contact the club.
