Weekend warriors wage warfare

When the words “war” and “fun” are mentioned in the same breath, you know it has to be paintball.
The town’s weekend warriors were out at ‘The Arena’ on the N11 on Saturday morning to strut their stuff with gun in hand, gleefully anticipating the chance to decimate the enemy.
Thankfully, the worst war wounds sustained are stinging bruises that the players wear with pride until they fade, only to be replaced at the next encounter.

Serious stuff indeed! It was a mixture of games such as ‘Capture The Flag’ and ‘Domination’, where one team has to keep their flag flying for the duration of the match and the other team, of course, has to prevent them from doing so.
The second half of the ‘ALAMO’ scenario match has been re-scheduled due to some of the main players not being able to make it on Saturday. Now it’s a matter of waiting out the cease-fire and getting back to the business of “bloody good battle fun”.
