Breakwaters Angling Club had the good fortune of being sponsored a floating trophy.

Breakwaters Angling Club had the good fortune of being sponsored a floating trophy.

The trophy was donated to the club by the Gurlal family, in memory of the late Satish “Jeff” Gurlal.

Mr Gurlal had served the club as treasurer for eight seasons. During his term, Mr Gurlal ensured the finances and the records of the club were meticulously maintained at all times.

“He is fondly remembered for his keen sense of humour. All those who socialised with him will testify that there was never a dull moment at club meetings or at the dam,” said Matthew Shunmugam from Breakwaters.

The members of the club conveyed their sincere appreciation to the Gurlal family.

Mr Gurlal is survived by his wife, Monica and children, Dinesh, Pranitha and Manisha, all of whom were proud of the sterling work done by their father.

The trophy will be presented at Breakwaters Angling Club’s awards function for the category, “League Champion,” which will be held on November 8 at Status Hall.
