Taking revenge on the volleyball court

They took first place in the opening season internal knock-out tournament and were runners-up at the close of season

Team ‘Avengerz’ is currently riding high in the local volleyball league.

They really have taken leaps and bounds in the volleyball league, and Avengerz Volleyball Club (AVC) are confident that they are here to stay. Having affiliated with the Emnambithi Volleyball Association (EVA) in March 2012, they took first place in the opening season internal knock-out tournament and were runners-up at the close of season. This year, they repeated this feat by winning the league for the second time running.

Avengerz Volleyball Club also participated in the Mayoral Cup and were runners-up, winning medals and kit. Some members have been selected to represent the EVA at external tournaments on several occasions, and have participated in various coaching and refereeing programmes that were facilitated by KZN Volleyball.

Avengerz have been looking forward to the new season, and have excelled once more as league champions. To add to their glory, they took part in the Municipal Tournament held recently at the Kandahar Avenue sports grounds and proved their worth once again by emerging as winners of the tournament.

They would like to place on record their sincere gratitude and appreciation to all those individuals and organisations who kindly donated towards the club. You know who you are!

The club would also like to thank the EVA for all their help and dedication in ensuring that the volleyball league has run successfully during the past three years. A special thanks to Innocent for letting AVC be a part of the Municipal Tournament. These top-class players are now looking forward to more tournaments in the future so they can further stamp their dominance on the local volleyball scene.
