Four swimmers from Winterton Primary School took part in the Seals Swimming Club Spring Challenge gala on Saturday, November 22

Four swimmers from Winterton Primary School took part in the Seals Swimming Club Spring Challenge gala on Saturday, November 22. They were Tayla and Cara Ralfe and Tristan and Kate Moore. Tristan Moore won bronze medals for butterfly and backstroke and gold medals for the individual medley, breaststroke and freestyle.

Twin sister, Kate won a silver medal for butterfly and gold medals for the individual medley, freestyle, breaststroke and backstroke. The following day at Midmar Dam, 22 swimmers from Winterton Primary School swam in the 1000m Capital K swim and seven swimmers completed the 500m swim. Four swimmers from the Drakensberg Boys’ Choir School also completed the swim.

They were Joshua Du Preez, Liam Muller, Sheldon Spence and Janthi van der Sandt. Micaela Sclanders from Treverton and Brett Wood from Maritzburg College also former WPS learners completed the 1000m swim.Emma and Abigail West from Epworth and Shaun Priest from Voortrekker, all ex Winterton Primary swimmers completed the 3km event in addition to swimming the 1000m event.
