This past weekend saw a clash of arch rivals, Riverside Angling Club and Docrat’s Angling Club. The Natal Fresh Water Angling Association League Round 3 saw the much anticipated match between the two rival Dundee clubs, both fighting for supremacy and the league title.
The day was filled with grey skies, thunder and downpours, which did little to take away the determination of the Docrat’s boys seeking revenge from their close defeat last season at the hands of their rivals in the knockout rounds.
Docrat’s emerged victorious on the day trouncing Riverside by an astounding margin of 56 points. 
Riverside managed a paltry team score of 32 while the Docrat boys amassed a massive 88 points. Most of the Docrats team had nets all yielding 10 points or more, a feat rarely seen at the association leagues. Top anglers on the day for Docrats were Shervive Tedpaul (16 pts), Vishal Dookhi (13pts), Haroon Bosman (12 pts), Shabeer Pullen (12pts), Varsen Chetty (12 pts) and Ramil Juggan (9 pts). Shervive also bagged an impressive catch of a 12.91kg barbel and Shabeer Pullen a carp of 2.94kg.
This humiliating defeat for Riverside ensured that Docrats remain undefeated in the league this season. While the league and knockout competitions take a break till next year, Riverside will have time to lick their wounds from what could only be described as an annihilation, and Docrats go into the holiday period firmly at the top of the league table.
