Vryheid Bowling Club – Good times on the green

THE last game of the league was played on Tuesday, December 2 and one could see that the new format played in the league was enjoyed by all.

The winning business team was Sharp, followed by Inyanga 1 and in third place was Build-It. Well done guys and girls. A special thank you goes to the Calitz family for the delicious chicken braai on the final evening. The meal was enjoyed by everyone.

We would also like to thank our members who ‘skipped’ the various business teams. Your input is much appreciated.

Two teams competed in the finals of the Club Mixed Pairs on Sunday, December 7. Congratulations to Ilva and Harald for winning the game. Well done!

At our ‘Year End Dinner’ on Friday, the catering team outdid themselves yet again. We all got more than our monies worth. Thanks to Petina; Savanah; Jade; Benita; Jill and Kobie. The evening was most enjoyable.

Carol’s could be finalized on Saturday, December 13, after we were rained out on Wednesday.

The top six players are as follows: First: Ron James, with 226 points, having played 11 times; Second: Harald Zoeppritz, with 216 points, having played 12 times; Third: Jan de Lange, with 209 points, having played 11 times; Fourth: Paul James, with 203 points, having played 12 times; Fifth: Ilva Zoeppritz, with 203 points, having played 11 times and Sixth: Dries Els, with 200 points, having played 12 times. It just goes to show, the more you play, the better your chances are of getting a high score.
