Highlanders begin preparations for season ahead
The Boschpick Highlanders will be looking to continue its reign at the top of the table this year and are definite contenders for a promotion spot finish.
Off the back of a successful season last year, Boschpick Newcastle Highlanders have already begun their preparation for 2015.
According to coach, André Swanepoel, there was a good turnout for the first week of practice on Monday January 5.
“38 players attended the first week. It was very pleasing to see the guys and the new players who have turned up to join the club.”
Six new players have joined the high-flying Natal squad.
The Boschpick Highlanders will be looking to continue its reign at the top of the table this year and are definite contenders for a promotion spot finish.
During last year’s season, a possible promotion to the Premium Rugby League (PRL) was narrowly missed after the side drew to Empangeni in a relegation match.
The Boschpick Highlanders will definitely be looking to claim this glory and take their prowess to the PRL in the upcoming season.
Trials will held on February 20 and all rugby players are welcome to join in the training sessions every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday at the Arbor Park Sports Grounds starting at 6pm.
A training camp for players will be held on January 30 in Ingogo, and players may bring their families along.
