This weekend sees the cast-off of the much-anticipated league competition of the Angling Professional League.
The four teams – Team Streetwire, The Fishing People, NFH Superstars and The Paper House – will do battle against each other.
Each round of the league carries prize money of R500 for the winning team.
The angler who accumulates the most points on the day will receive a floating trophy and get to wear the orange cap, while the overall leader dons the purple cap.
Currently, the purple cap belongs to Shane Mangaroo as the forerunner in the last competition.
The league competition will be held at Sandford on October 19: anglers can fish in any zone of their choice.
The weigh-in will take place at the pump house in Zone C. All members are urged to adhere to the rules so as to ensure that all competitions proceed smoothly. Membership is currently open to new members wishing to join the league.
The Breakwaters awards function will be held on November 8 at the Status Hall where Durban’s leading band,‘Caribbean’, will be entertaining with music.
